ACO wins Battersea Power Station drainage tender

ACO Water Management has won the tender to provide drainage solutions to one of London’s most high profile developments on the site of the former Battersea Power Station.

The new development, which is called Nine Elms, is a 200-acre Central London regeneration zone which has Battersea Power Station at its heart. Once complete the development will have more than three million sq ft of space for shops, restaurants, cafes and offices, along with more than 4,000 new homes.

ACO has won the tender to provide 2,200 metres of drainage for Phase 1 of the new development, around the Battersea Power Station. The exact specification is for MultiDrain M100 complete with Brickslot grating with galvanised steel channels to aid the fast removal of surface water from the area.

ACO Brickslot is designed to be a subtle and unobtrusive grating which when combined with ACO MultiDrain MD galvanised or stainless steel channels, can be used as a solution to complement discreet drainage applications. The vertical sides of the grating enable pavements to be laid directly to the units edge and, once installed, provides a totally secure drainage system that is invulnerable to vandalism or loose gratings.

Phase 2 of the development will redevelop the areas surrounding Battersea Power Station and will include the pedestrianised Electric Boulevard which will boast 45 new shops, 12 cafes and restaurants, and more than 1,300 new homes.
